Love Remains (feat. Lyrics Born) by Tha Building
Read more
Debut single "Love Remains feat. Lyrics Born" from Tha Building, a new Oakland, CA based original funk, soul, rock, and hip hop group. Legendary Bay Area rapper Lyrics Born lends his talents to this track, elevating an already groove heavy and thought provoking song. Full debut album "Outside Ourselves" drops Friday 8/26/22 on all platforms, with the album release show on Sat. 8/27/22 at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA. Visit https://thabuilding.com/ for more details and tickets. The band is a collection of some of the baddest singers, rappers and instrumentalists out of the Bay Area. Formed shortly before the 2020 lockdown, much of the album was recorded remotely. "Outside Ourselves" represents selflessness, and the need for each of us look outward–acknowledging all of the beauty and community, as well pain and injustice that exists in the world today. Songs range from big funk productions with horns, to rock/soul anthems, to downtempo Motown and R&B jams. Principle songwriter Jesse Brewster wrote much of the album, with several other writers collaborating on different tracks. The songs are danceable, thought provoking and filled with depth and technicality.People & Blogs

Shimon Attie’s Night Watch on SF Bay
Read more
This video, by Ido Bartana, is a brief look at the West Coast debut of Shimon Attie’s Night Watch, a floating media arts installation co-presented by BOXBLUR and Immersive Arts Alliance. Night Watch traveled San Francisco Bay and the Oakland Estuary on the evenings of September 17-19, 2021. During these nights, onshore activations — exhibitions, panels, and screenings — were presented, in parallel, by Night Watch partner organizations. “San Francisco is a city of immigrants that continues to be defined today by our diverse communities. That diversity not only shapes the values that we hold as a city, it’s also reflected in the art and culture we produce. We’re excited to welcome Night Watch to San Francisco as a continuation of that expression of our values.” San Francisco Mayor London N. BreedPeople & Blogs
SF Bay Area Premiere of Franchise Freedom by DRIFT (Winter, 2022)
An artwork in the sky, Franchise Freedom is comprised of 600 drones, modeled on the swarming behavior of starlings. It has been exhibited previously in Rotterdam, at the Kennedy Space Center and at Burning Man. This will be its first flight in San Francisco. Because of strong connection to ideas of freedom and autonomy, the exhibition of Franchise Freedom has been dedicated to and associated with emergency workers that have kept us safe during this health emergency. For its first-ever flight over the San Francisco Bay, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and the International Association of EMTs and Paramedics are our guests of honor. At Immersive Arts Alliance, we believe artists’ voices are important in shaping society, and public spaces are vital for creative expression. We partner with venues, artists, arts organizations and like-minded people to present large-scale, visionary projects that bring us together, inspire us, and remind us how remarkable life can be. Immersive Arts Alliance partners and allies for the SF premiere of Franchise Freedom are: DRIFT, SuperBlue, Drone Stories, PACE, KEEHNonArt, and Magik*Magik Orchestra.People & Blogs
